The pinima peacock bass, or Cichla pinima, is a species of freshwater peacock bass native to the Amazon River Basin of South America. This fish is known for its vibrant shades of green, yellow, and orange, stretching across a large body size of a maximum of 31 inches. It's unique and distinctive black markings separate this species from other forms of the peacock bass. As an aggressive predator, the pinima peacock bass primarily feeds on meaty foods, such as small fish like gobies, shrimp, or carnivore pellets.
While this species can be social, it is advised to not keep them with other aggressive or fast-moving fish species as it will be quite territorial and will likely attempt to chase after or attack those tank mates. It is recommended to keep them with other large, robust and peaceful species of fish to ensure that each species lives its life to the fullest.
Diet: Predator and fish eater. Can be weaned on to frozen and prepared feeds relatively easily
